Le Donne di Cavalli

“Few composers paint human emotion as vividly or with greater insight, wit and poignancy than Barbara Strozzi: the pioneering Venetian composer, born 400 years ago, whose songs and madrigals stand alongside Monteverdi’s as some of the greatest of the age.”

Mediterráneo was voted Song of the Century in Spain. His compositions are an integral part of Spanish and South American culture. In this album, Leonardo García Alarcón immerses himself in the poetic texts that Serrat set to music and juxtaposes them with pieces from the Golden Age.

Monteverdi, Les 7 Péchés Capitaux

The composer pushed the boundaries of form in ways that roused the emotions and anger of his contemporaries. In 2017, in celebration of his 450th birthday, we had the opportunity to explore his work and highlight the contemporary force of his musical language.

Monteverdi, Lettera Amorosa

Monteverdi – Piazzolla

In this audacious and deeply moving programme, Leonardo García Alarcón brings together two seemingly disparate composers. Although they may have lived 350 years apart, each revolutionised the music of their era. Time comes to a standstill for these two composers who sought to freely express emotion through music.

Sogno di una notte veneziana

Sogno di una notte veneziana reinvents the world through songs of suffering, heartache, surrender and death. A musical foray into the world of dreams.

Teatro Dei Sensi

Venetian Baroque Heroines: from Francesco Cavalli to Barbara Strozzi
