Sogno di una notte veneziana reinvents the world through songs of suffering, heartache, surrender and death. A musical foray into the world of dreams.
Mariana Flores and Leonardo García Alarcón’s ensemble, Cappella Mediterranea, present 17th century Venice from two different perspectives. The heroines of Francesco Cavalli’s operas mingle with the works of female composers of the time, including Barbara Strozzi and Antonia Bembo.
