Sobre
LEONARDO GARCÍA ALARCÓN, GUEST CONDUCTOR
One of the specialities of conductor and harpsichordist Leonardo García Alarcón is unearthing forgotten compositions. In the Österreichische Nationalbibliothek, in Vienna, he conjured up Il dono della vita eterna by Antonio Draghi.
To a libretto by Nicolò Minato, this oratorio sings of the delights of eternal life. It was first performed in 1686, as a sort of theatrical Passion. The work is very appropriate for All Souls, the day of the dead. Alarcón’s compelling approach is sure to guarantee that the first performance of this work in centuries will be a special experience.
