The concert took place at the Op\u00e9ra de Dijon after the first lockdown.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;These works are masterpieces of instrumental music, but are not that far removed from vocal music&#8221; <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Chouchane Siranossian and Leonardo Garc\u00eda Alarc\u00f3n<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The violin according to Bach<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In the first half of the 17th century, European composers were using instrumental music to experiment with sound and expression. They took inspiration from vocal rhetoric to create a new instrumental language that was characterised by increased virtuosity, invention, improvisation and a quest for unfamiliar and surprising sounds. The violin was the ideal instrument for this new repertoire, which sparked the creativity of musicians like Farina, Schmelzer, Biber, Pisendel and Bach. Their works emerged from the early baroque style of \u201cstylus phantasticus\u201d, breaking free from convention and custom in order to explore new expressive possibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chouchane Siranossian, Bal\u00e1zs Mat\u00e9 and Leonardo Garc\u00eda Alarc\u00f3n invite us to discover this groundbreaking repertoire.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column
