Based on the myth of Orpheus\u2019 attempt to rescue his wife Eurydice from the Underworld, L’Orfeo is a milestone in the history of music, marking the end of Renaissance music and the beginning of the Baroque period. Leonardo Garc\u00eda Alarc\u00f3n and Cappella Mediterranea brilliantly interpret this magnificent love song that is also a poetic and theatrical fable about the power of music.<\/p><\/div>\n

Bach before Bach<\/h2>\n

Chouchane Siranossian \u2013 the guest of honour at the Festivals de Wallonie in 2019 \u2013reunited with Leonardo Garc\u00eda Alarc\u00f3n in May 2020 to inaugurate this programme that is centred on Bach’s violin repertoire. The concert took place at the Op\u00e9ra de Dijon after the first lockdown.<\/p><\/div>\n
