The original score of El Prometeo is kept in the Leopoldine Library in Vienna. It dates from 1669 and is the first opera by Antonio Draghi, composer and singer, notably in the operas of Cavalli. For the first time in history, an Italian composes on a Spanish text. The last act of El Prometeo has disappeared. But since the libretto of this act has been kept, Leonardo García Alarcón decided to rewrite the music completely. "I immersed myself in Draghi's music to understand his style, the intervals he favours, the type of melody he composes and the type of basso continuo he likes, in an attempt to make a score worthy of him. So I hope that this third act will be worthy of his music, his intentions and his creation! "says the Argentine conductor who, at the head of a brilliant cast (Fabio Trümpy, Mariana Florès, Giuseppina Bridelli, Scott Conner, Borja Quiza, Zachary Wilder, Ana Quintans) brings this Baroque opera to life in Castilian, an opportunity to show his love for his native language, "an absolutely musical language"!
